Mattias Tesfaye visiting VM Tarm
Director Holger Lauritsen and apprenticeship manager Lars Pedersen were in charge of the tour, where the minister had the opportunity to meet our apprentices Sean and William. The conversation focused on their educational path and how we as a company can support and uplift the young through their process.
Another important topic was the government's plans for a new two-year practical gymnasium education – EPX. Both Hans Uhd (UCRS) and our apprentices Agnes and Anton participated, contributing their experiences and perspectives.
At VM Tarm, we believe that EPX should give young people a concrete insight into various craft professions. Therefore, good workshop facilities and experienced craftsmen are crucial for the young to choose that path. The minister appeared to be receptive to our points.
The visit concluded with a presentation of our work on apprentice recruitment. Here, Anton showed the minister some of the videos he makes for VM Tarm's TikTok channel – which elicited several laughs.
