Renovation and relocation of feed tank

At VM Tarm, we have just completed a comprehensive renovation and relocation of an existing tank system for Christensen Transport AS in Norway.

The project included a complete relocation of the tank system to a new Scania chassis, where a number of technical upgrades and improvements have been made, all with a focus on reliability, functionality, and optimal weight distribution.

Completed solution – customized in detail

In connection with the relocation, the tank system has been carefully adapted to the new chassis, including:

  • Optimized placement based on load calculations
  • New chassis fasteners and rubber mounts
  • Complete documentation and approval from Norwegian authorities

At the same time, existing components have been reused where it adds value; among other things, piping in stainless steel, which has been electropolished to ensure long life and high quality.

Upgraded equipment and functionality

The tank system has been upgraded with a series of new components and solutions, including:

  • New bottom valves in cast aluminum
  • Updated compressed air system with EBRO butterfly valves
  • Relocation and upgrading of blower unit
  • New floor plate in aluminum focusing on a nicely closed chassis while still ensuring easy access and serviceability.
  • Custom rear bumper with built-in Strands lamps.
  • ​Double chimney behind the driver's cab.
  • Trux wildlife guard and roof bar mounted with 10 pcs. OZZ remote lights.
  • New beautifully padded cabin in white and red leather, made by FL-Buhr.
  • Equipped with hidden storage boxes between coverings between the rear fenders.

Additionally, new hose pipes, hose pipe boxes, and a number of details have been installed, contributing to a more efficient and user-friendly solution in daily operations.

Focus on durability and finish

The project also includes a number of visual and functional improvements:

  • New glide rails and seals on manholes
  • Painting of selected components in Ivory White and Vermelho Chili red
  • Integration of lights, profile tubes, and details with a focus on both safety and expression

The result is a solution that not only works optimally – but also looks sharp on the road.

With this renovation, Christensen Transport has received an updated and future-proof tank system that combines existing quality with new components and modern solutions.
