Renovation and relocation of feed tank
At VM Tarm, we have just completed a comprehensive renovation and transfer of an existing tank facility for Christensen Transport AS in Norway.
The project involved a complete transfer of the tank facility to a new Scania chassis, along with a series of technical upgrades and improvements, all with a focus on operational reliability, functionality, and optimal weight distribution.
Executed Solution – Customised in Detail
In connection with the transfer, the tank facility has been precisely adapted to the new chassis, including:
- Optimised placement based on load calculations
- New chassis fasteners and rubber suspension
- Complete documentation and approval for Norwegian authorities
At the same time, existing components have been reused where it adds value; including piping in stainless steel, which has been electropolished to ensure a long lifespan and high quality.
Upgraded Equipment and Functionality
The tank facility has been upgraded with a range of new components and solutions, including:
- New bottom valves made of high-grade aluminium
- Updated compressed air system with EBRO butterfly valves
- Transfer and upgrade of the blower unit
- New deck plate in aluminium focusing on a clean closed chassis while still providing easy access and serviceability.
- Custom made rear bumper with built-in Strands lights.
- Double exhaust behind the cab.
- Trux wild sump and roof bar fitted with 10 OZZ remote lights.
- New beautifully upholstered cabin in white and red leather, made by FL-Buhr.
- Equipped with hidden storage boxes between the enclosures between the rear fenders.
Additionally, new hoses, hose boxes, and several details have been installed that contribute to a more efficient and user-friendly solution in daily operation.
Focus on Durability and Finish
The project also includes a range of visual and functional improvements:
- New sliding rails and seals on manholes
- Painting of selected components in Ivory White and Vermelho Chili red
- Integration of lights, profile tubes, and details focusing on both safety and aesthetics
The result is a solution that not only functions optimally – but also looks sharp on the road.
